If there’s one cause that’s near and dear to my heart, it’s The Funk. So understandably I was filled with immense sorrow when I heard that Dr. Funkenstein himself, George Clinton, needed $50,000 to save his studio. And then I was filled with even more immense sorrow when I realized that George Clinton doesn’t have $50,000.

After all, this is the man that gave us not only Parliament but also Funkadelic; masterpieces such as Maggot Brain, One Nation Under a Groove and Mothership Connection; and classics songs such as “Flash Light,” “Atomic Dog” and “Give Up the Funk (Tear the Roof Off the Sucka)” that served as the very building blocks for hip hop. Won’t any of the countless blinged out rappers who’ve sampled his work pitch in some money and help a motherfunker out?
