Today launches a new season of Capsule, a menswear market filled with some of the best emerging fashion designers from around the world. Hosted by the hotties at Brand Pimps, Media Whores (BPMW), the trade show is one of the best for featuring some of our favorite indie designers. WeAreTheMarket.com has been showcasing a few of the events top designers and we’ve got the full preview of what to expect at this two day event right here.

You Must Create, or more commonly known as YMC, is developing their on-going ethos and commitment to creating intelligent clothing that is wearable and distinctive while remaining uninfluenced by the seasonal whims of fashion. The brand was originally created in London in response to the increasing demand for stylish, functional and modern clothing. YMCs collections gradually develop from season to season to ensure originality while maintaining longevity.

“It’s Only the End of the World Again,” is the newest collection from Wrath Arcane reflecting the current economic/political situation and human nature. The brand does not necessarily follow trends, but instead they “focus inward on what Wrath Arcane is becoming.” The brand tries to push “Wrath specific” details instead. Their Spring/ Summer ’

09 will be somewhat of a leap as far as fabrics are concerned. The line will be infused with more subtle color and continue to be organic and natural. Look out for collaborations such as the graphical/jewelry one with Philadelphia artist Hilary White and leather collaboration with HAUS.

Red Wing Shoes, a brand that dates back to 1905, is committed to the basic principles of style, craftsmanship, quality, and comfort for more than a century. Red Wing shoes started as a brand making tough comfortable shoes and shoes for hard working people at war, on the farm, and in oil fields and factories, but now they retain that unique American style and superior quality while being fashion forward.

S***R ( SWEAR) footwear, born in 2001 on the London scene, has attracted some great attention in the fashion and music industry with after its first flagship store opened on Carnaby Street in London. Founded by Jose Neves and brand manager Jorge Sampaio, S***R has minimal and classic shoes with a punk rock twist. The “ James Dean”

has become an instant classic, and with six new shapes named after famous rockers, there are more to come.

Since its birth in 1994, Maharishi has evolved into one of the UK’s most influential designer labels, offering men’s, women’s and children’

s collections available from exclusive fashion retailers worldwide. Founded by (creative director) Hardy Blechman, Maharishi carries a strong ethos of respect for nature while utilizing the latest technology. Blechman started out in the military and industrial surplus trade shaping his future aesthetic and philosophy.

Rod Keenan first introduced his line to Barney’s in 1992, and ever since then, from his millinery studio in the heart of Harlem, he’s been creating innovative and fashion forward men’

s hats. In Fall 07, Keenan started a more youthful line, RodNYC, to include a mix of perennial favorites with seasonal and whimsical twists, along with classic shapes in contemporary colors.

New York based designers via Denmark,Mjölk, will be making an appearance atCapsule next week.” I am obsessed by the practical concerns, cut, fit, fabrication and engineering,”

says Lars of Mjölk. The brand that recently did collaboration with Topman for S/S 08, was started in response to the growing lack of artisan craftsmanship used in mens clothing. The line features garments completely engineered towards a given look or shape regardless of its function.

Within a short span of time, F- Troupe has established itself internationally and is now available in 24 countries.

Starting out by just making t-shirts for friends, Chrissie Miller and designer Madeleine von Froomer, created a line of clothing staples with a New York vibe. Sophomore, the line inspired by the 70s and the L.E.S., has added some new fashion pieces to the timeless collection. The S/S 09 collection features jacket/sweatshirt options, muscle pocket t-shirts and bright colors.

A Dose of Capsule: The Full Preview Footwear and food? An interesting combination that designer Takashi Kanokogi has put together for his Rhythm Footwear collection. Kanokogi’s designs are basic with minimal decoration paralleling each shoe’s simple name –Sandwich, Bagel (both pictured here), Gyro and Panini. The inspiration is simple as well: daily life (i.e. hanging around with friends, listening to music, drinking, etc.). These designs are sure to satiate anyones appetite for Spring/Summer 09.

Tsovet, the newest line of watches making its debut at Capsule, brings back the basics. Tsovets philosophy is to remain timeless and classic in aesthetic and function. Despite the vast array of technology that keeps us moving in our day- to- day lives, the traditional wrist-watch manages to survive. Their latest model, the SVT- CS79, is rooted in the theme of exploration, similar to that of the wrist compass worn by surveyors in the Black Sea region. Made using the finest techniques and materials, Tsovet is sure to stand out in a world full of IPhones and Blackberries.
