Even though I was crying at the time, ended up being late for band practice, emotionally regressed to the mentality of a 15-year-old, and lost my chance of bumming some gas money, my dad’s scolding session last nite was enlightening and encouraging.
Not because I felt inspired to be a more responsible human being.
But because among other cardinal sins, he told me I dress like a homeless person and needed to fix my hair.
Then I thought of Mary-Kate and Erin Wasson’s “homeless people have the best style” thing, and I felt A-OK. Proud, even. Thank you, Daddy.
