A Great Comment From Jeffrey Cabrera
Apparently, our readers DO understand us. In response to Daniel’s recent post on commentators that think we are racist, I’m just glad to know that our avid enthusiasts know better. Yes, we do sometimes hate a little (okay, a lot) but we are in no way racist. Nowhere in the article did it say anything about race, we just agree with Jeffrey here that you can’t get too far in life “dressing like that.” So here is the quote from a person who shares our point of view.
“It’s not about judgement toward the style. Just how far can you really get in life dressing like that. Also not about racism, that’s just a retarded thought made by you. I have plantly of friends that drees ghetto. It just been done way too much, nobody has to see your underwear. You can’t even get into a club dressing like that. My jeans are reasonably bagged, not too tight or baggy. If you feel that way keep living inside the box.”

Jeffrey I feel you, but the problem is that people look at our style and call it “dressing ghetto”, but there’s always this negative thing attatched to it. “Dressing ghetto” is really just my communities casual wear, just like Abercrombie or Gap is casual to the white community. Understand tho’, it’s not kool to show up to your office in baggy jeans, a hoodie and a bandana, just like it’s not kool to show up in a Abercrombie tee, ripped jeans, and flip-flops. I STILL THINK THE COMMENTER WAS AN ASS, but I wanted to clear that up
Reply to Z'maji of HauteBlogXOXOYour absolutely right, and i do apologize for calling the ghetto style. Casual wear really is a stereotype because there really is no causal style or dress code for itself, what might be casual wear for one person, might be dressing “fresh to death” for another. In all reality, dressing in a sense, weather it’s professional, a date or a regular day, we shouldn’t dress in a manner where it looks like we’re straight coming out of poverty or “the hood”. We are trying to advance ourselves so we can get out of such places not embrace it. I myself live in a place where this form a casual wear runs the streets. I can’t change them but i can show them that the way you dress can change the perspective of your personality. Thank you for taking the time to express yourself. take care
