An appreciation for having teenage angst without really having the angst. Although that was designer Rick Owens’ summary for his women’s s/s 2009 collection, virtually the same phrase can be applied to his first ever menswear collection which hit the runways of men’s fashion week. Owens’ sent out several successful looks which mimicked the current mood dancing in the air: non-indulged, with a romantic attitude and apparent glamour grunge. With dark cloistered layers of matte wool, waxed crocodile and fur, Owens’ expanded his repertoire not only with new material but also from women’s to men’s design! We’ll be sure to post more photos of Owens’ men’s collection once they are accessible!
