Ad dict: Calvin Klein and TSE

As most of you probably know, minimalism is back and coming up fast through fashion. But this isn’t your 1990s, Calvin Klein, bluejeansandawhiteteeshirt kind of simplicity. Everyone is taking a cue and toning it down from home decorators to photographers to graphic designers. TSE’s new campaigns for both the men’s and women’s lines is eerily similar to Calvin Klein’s newest set of ads. But the minimalist mindset has taken a fresh angle, and a sharp one at that. Strong shadows, robotic poses and stiff hair dominate the the modern simplicity standpoint. Even famed photographer Patrick Demarchelier has jumped on the bandwagon with his editorial spread in Italian Vogue’s November issue. Which do you like better Indies, the old or the new?
