So I just read New York Magazine’s “the Cut” blog’s article about Anna Sui’s line for Target. Apparently, Target thinks the gossip girl-inspired line is too racy for their likes. Reading that, I died. Too risky for Target??? Really? Who does Target think they are? First of all, they’re lucky that they even got someone like Anna Sui to design a collection for them and now they want HER to their rules. If I was Anna, I would take my business to H&M. They should be worshipping the ground Anna Walks on, just like the rest of us. And on second thought, who actually thinks that gossip girl is that racy?!?! Most New Yorkers got an eyefull of seducing billboards and only the Mothers Against Drunk Driving complained. Gossip Girl is about teenagers and who else to better represent Target’s youth than a bunch of flawless faces in Marni, Marc, or Anna Sui herself. So Target, please re-think your actions and save the racey to the Mothers.
