The past 24 hours have been a whirlwind of emotions for me as you could imagine. I started off be devastated after WWD reported that April77 was packing it in and calling it quits, and today I cry tears of a different emotion knowing that they were full of shit!

I guess it’s true, you never know what you’ve got until it’s gone…don’t ever scare me like that again April77!

As much as I hate warm weather, I have to admit I’m kind of excited for Spring to stick around. After seeing this collection from Shellac I’m even more excited too! The aesthetic and all around feel of the collection is great!

Loving the new Fall 2010 collection from Il Sistema Degli Oggetti, the relaxed fit of all the pieces makes it something I am looking to get into my closet this Fall.I love the baddy, sheer, nude tights on the girl too. Can we please get that trend going ladies?

A certain buyer friend of mine recently got back from Paris Fashion Week and his private buyer meeting with the Alexander McQueen reps in France, and boy did he have some interesting info for me. Aside from saying that the final collection from McQueen himself is absolutely amazing and truly a couture line, he mentioned that some of the pieces cost up to $60,000! Sure that’s a lot of money, but the crazier part is that he told me a private buyer came in and bought all 70 pieces for her own personal collection! I wish I knew who this woman was because I’d have to make her my sugar mama!

The reoccurring hints of Spring time have even the biggest fashionistas getting their warm weather looks ready. My personal favorite Tavi, aka The Style Rookie, keeps it fairly simple with a simple graphic tee and blazer look. Jealousy is only one of the words I could use to describe the way I feel about my friend Jason Last being able to film some behind the scenes footage of the Robert Geller Fall 2010 runway show.The show was absolutely brilliant, and this amazing video gives us all a closer look at some of the pieces.

Some friends at Shwood were kind enough to send me my own pair of wooden shades that the brand makes, and all the high expectations I had were definitely fulfilled. The whole idea of wooden sunglasses raised a bunch of concerns when I first read about them, but after trying them for myself I would recommend them to anyone. The best thing about Fashion Week is going to a show you aren’t too familiar and leaving completely impressed. That was J. Sabatino for me. I went into the show not really knowing what to expect, and left glad that I went out to the show. I look forward to seeing what is to come from the brand in the future.

For some reason the hype around Calvin Klein this NYFW was huge this year. I’m not going to lie I considered crashing it, but I cherished the one day of sleeping in I had.While it was one of the most talked about before hand, after the show it kind of fell by the wayside.

So there was this one time when I almost cried during New York Fashion Week, and yes I am a 22 year old male so what?I am so so so so so upset that I missed this show. Due to the retarded (f*** being socially acceptable right now this is fashion people), I had to sit on the curb on the verge of tears as Bumsuk Choi showed yet another amazing collection for his brand General Idea. There isn’t a doubt in my mind that this brand is going to blow up tenfold from where it is within the next couple years. Consider me obsessed!

There are some shows that you just know are going to be amazing fashion week after fashion week, Rad Hourani is one of them. Going into the show my expectations were eagerly high, but not only were they met they were blown out of the water. A familiar swarm of black and leather looks marched down the runway at Milk Studios for the first half of the show, then a series of super shiny patent leather looks followed that resulted in jaws hitting the floor. While I could easily write at least another eight sentences about the collection it’s easier just to say that it was near perfection. Don’t believe me? GQ’s designer of the year Billy Reid showed his latest Fall 2010 collection at the Mac & Milk venue. The collection is classic Americano, totally loved it. Nice choice GQ, and way to follow up after Robert Geller last season.

If you ask me formal wear is dead for the time being, but if there is one designer helping to pump the life back into this look it’s Gaspard Yurkievich.

His new Fall 2010 runway show amped up a usual jacket and pants with some amazing color blocking and accents. I’m not one to throw on a suit, but if I had to do it I think Gaspard Yurkievich could be the one getting the nod.

The Viridi-Anne recently took to the runway to prove that Rick Owens isn’t the only one who can make miracle with black and leather.The collection has some amazing asymetrical cuts and closures, and despite being “over” the whole surgical mask look (it’s been done to death by now) this collection has me adding The Viridi-Anne to my “brands to watch” list.

PS how about the boots?! They look they are made out of black leather corn husks!

Being the tall skinny guy I am, I’m naturally drawn to a skinnier, tighter fitting pair of denim, but lately I’ve found myself considering a pair of destroyed baggy fitting pair of jeans. That my friend’s is where the latest collection from NOBODY comes in. Now I haven’t seen these in person yet, but I have a feeling these are the ones I’ve been looking for.

I could do without the puff ball on the hat, but this is a perfect look for the Winter if you ask me! Maybe it’s just me, but when it’s cold  I find myself wearing clothes that are comfortable enough to walk in the door and hop back into bed in, but call me crazy!

As soon as my hair gets long enough I may even have to try this one! It’s always great to see hair and make up styles successfully make it from the runway to the streets, and that’s exactly what happened to the notorious braid from the Alexander Wang runway show.While I think I prefer the look with a more relaxed wardrobe (like the Alexander Wang collection), but as Rachel McAdams is proving it dresses up pretty well. Don’t let me down ladies, I hope to see a lot more of this running around Soho!

Chanel is still sticking to the idea that Karl Lagerfeld is either immortal or a robot (both of which are definitely possible), because they are sticking to their story that they have made no plans to find a successor for the ponytailed magician known as Karl Lagerfeld.While I understand how big of a hit Chanel would take without Lagerfeld running the show, it’s crazy to think that Chanel isn’t wheeling-and-dealing behind the scenes to make sure they have a “plan B” in order.
