With the only exception being the look above, I think that the Spring 2009 Issey Miyake collection is the worst I have seen in a long time. The collection has some of the worst color choices ever, combined with a lack of patterns, flattering cuts, and style in general. I feel like this collection is a mix between Old Navy and International Male.

Oliver Peoples decided to team up with the hipster princess Zooey Deschanel to design a few pairs of sunglasses. The shades are very Wayfarer-esque, but I don’t think anyone is really suprised by that at all. I think the glasses look great, but I think that the sunglasses market needs a make over. I’m concerned at how limited your options are when it comes to styles. I have been in the market for a new pair of shades since my Marc Jacobs from last year have taken quite the beating. Upon shopping around, I have realized I only really have two options, Wayfarers (no thanks!) or Aviators (I look dumb in 99% of them). BUMMER! Let me know if you indies have any suggestions.

The new ads from DOHC are pretty bright, colorful and nifty if you ask me. Don’t know much about the brand, but they look like a good time haha.

Forged Identity is showing off their new Fall 2009 Collection with a rather industrial lookbook. The collection is very wool laden and will undoubtedly keep you warm and toasty in the brisk Fall air. The pieces are very classic looking, and I must say that the plaid peacoat is pretty appealing to me, and I’m not usually one to go ccrazy over a peacoat.

“An Answer Becomes Slow And I Am Sad” is the name for the Fall 2009 Collection by Julia & Ben, and believe it or not it is only their third collection as a brand in general. The collection is both trendy and classic, and the color scheme (black, white and gray) gives it that versatility and everyone is loving right now. Still blown away that this is just their third collection ever!

A little West Coast love from a couple West Coast brahs today. Warriors Of Radness hail from LA, and with warmer weather around the corner, traveling could be in the schedule for a lot of you indies who need a break from the concrete jungle that is NYC. RockersNYC is at it again with another LES classic collection. The video is pretty cool, and it really helps to build the image of the collection. The collection itself is called The Church Of The Rad Mind which is so dope. There are a few shirts and such I’ll be keeping my eye out for in the next couple months within the collection. The videos a bit long, but you have to love it!

When Rebecca sent me the image of this guys pants I didn’t know what to think, and I still don’t know whether I love them or hate them. They are 100% obnoxious, that isn’t even in question here, but I think that’s also why I think they are pretty neat. The look as a whole isn’t that great to be honest. It’s very mix and match, and it seems like this guy just grabbed what he thought to be the coolest shit in his closet and threw it all on at once. I think the pants could be done well by some people, others (^^^wink wink) not so much. What do you think indies? Shine on? Or screw off glam rock Lancelot?

Heath has become a pretty big name in menswear in Japan, and there is and obvious reason why. The brand offers some amazing looking pieces. The collection for this coming Fall is focused heavily around outerwear, with specific accents of velvet and plaid being the wow factor here. I personally love it, and Heath is just another great brand to fall in love with next season.
