They are known for putting out those dressy yet in your face fashion collections, and the photoshoot they are offering to how off their latest Spring collection is right in line with their image. Odyn Vovk: Fall 2009 Collection

This is the second article I’ve worked on today, and I am two for two with amazing content and designers. I’ve been raving about Odyn Vovk for a hot second, and I am always impressed with the work that is done. The collection is very similar to that of Rick Owens, and when you have a collection that is all black, people focus more on the sheer construction of the look. Say what you want about the deep dark looks, but they are pure genius.

Well Marc Jacobs, you have won the battle on kilts onces again. Marc has been wearing his for quite some time now, and with the recent release of the Vogue Homme International Spring edition. Now I have to admit this is one of the coolest and trendiest spreads I have seen in a long while. Now I would be lying if I said I haven’t checked out the Comme des Garcons kilt at the boutique down the street, but I don’t know if I’m ready to go down that route yet. Absolutely amazing spread though.

Yohji Yamamoto’s latest collection for Coming Soon has really changed up the game for Spring. While the collection is still in typical large scale pieces that fit loose, they are toned down and cleaned up for this collection. This Coming Soon collection is crisp, clean, and a general Spring feeling.

Well our Spring is their Fall, so this collection should be out in the next couple of weeks. One of my favorite Aussie brands, Who Am Eye, have launched an extremely impressive new collection that features some great leather pieces and well layered looks. I was going to originally post only the men’s items, but then I realized “Hey this is the 21st Century, everything is more or less unisex at this point”. Jeremy Scott really knows how to make a statement, and if it wasn’t for him I don’t know that I would even give Adidas the time of day. This latest collaboration for Fall 2009 is amazing from what is pictured above. The crewneck sweatshirts are really great, and I wouldn’t hesitate to throw those teeth lace locks in my combat boots.

I don’t know many people who don’t love Sophomore, and the latest Spring collection only adds to my love for them. Why might you ask? Because they never try to be anything they aren’t. Chrissie Miller should be an inspiration to the many out there looking to get into designing. Design what you know, and Chrissie knows Lower East Side fashion.
