Fern Mallis, the woman behind New York’s Mercedes -Benz Fashion Week, said “sayonara” to IMG yesterday in hopes of pursuing her own consulting firm, Fern Mallis LLC. After nine years on the job, Mallis is using Fashion Week’s move from Bryant Park to Lincoln Center as closure on her chapter at IMG. But don’t worry, Mallis won’t be too far from the fashion frenzy…IMG Fashion is her first client!
