Quoteable: I Kissed A Girl, So Im No Role Model

Katy Perry has taken a lot heat over the last few months, when your hit song is called “I Kissed A Girl” that tends to happen. Recently she gave an interview with YRB magazine explaining her persona and why she’s no role model:

“If people want a role model, they can have Miley Cyrus.”

I guess Perry hasn’t seen these photos of the tween queen:

When Vogue was Good

Edited by

As I stated earlier it is my mission prove how much American Vogue sucks. But today I am not going to shit on Anna Wintour. Instead I want to highlight when American Vogue under Anna Wintour was good. Because Anna Wintour did indeed create some groundbreaking covers. The below image is one of them. This November 1988, shortly after Wintour assumed the post of editor-in-chief,  was the first high/low fashion image. Wintour paired a $10,000 Christian Lacroix t-shirt  with a $50 pair of jeans. This idea of mixing high fashion with low fashion would become much imitated and cans till be seen to today.

When Vogue was Good

So my question is where did the innovation go?

Glossed: Kate Moss in Interview Magazine

Edited by

Here is the much hyped editorial of Kate Moss for the new Interview Magazine. As always Kate Moss was shot by Mert and Marcus and she appears nude for half the shots. Good to know Kate Moss will never change. The rumor on the street is that this new incarnation of Interview is like the American version of French Vogue . One can only hope.

Gossip Girls Channels My Fair Lady

Edited by

Here’s Blake Lively and Leighton Meester filming what is most likely a dream sequence for the new season of Gossip Girls. The inspiration comes from the Audrey Hepburn (Blair Wardorf’s favorite movie star) musical My Fair Lady. Harry and his Potter Creeps Me Out

Edited by

So I’ve finally made my way through the September issue of American Vogue. And as expected it sucks. But what weirded me out the most was the article with Daniel Radcliffe about his play Equus. It wasn’t the article itself, because I didn’t read it, it was the below image. As my mother asked “Why must he always be naked?!” Seeing this image makes me incredibly uncomfortable and I can’t be the only one. Who OK’d this? Another reason why American Vogue sucks.

Trendspark: See Through Lace

Edited by

A big theme of the Fall 2008 Prada collection was doily patterned separates. On the runway they layered different colored lace shirts over skirts, to create a highly textured look. They also utilized this trend over solid shirts, to make the lace pop. The whole look speaks to Prada’s riche art girl aesthetic.

Prada also presented the trend in muted beige shirts mixed with neon skirts
