Have you been watching this season’s Project Runway? If you have, you’ve no doubt noticed Leanne and her arts and crafts style clothes. It comes as no surprise that I stumbled upon her on Etsy, you know the arts and crafts website for those who can’t get their clothes into the store Anthropologie. Anyway here she gives a little intro about herself and the process of getting on Project Runway:
I’m Leanne and I run a small independent clothing line of my own formerly known as Leanimal, but now I’m just going by my name Leanne Marshall. No more animal!

I knew that I wanted to be a fashion designer since I was 12 years old and I dabbled in designing my ballet costumes. I ended up going to FIDM in San Francisco and getting a degree in fashion design, but after graduating I took a detour and worked as a graphic designer for five years. I was able to quit my day job as a graphic designer and do the clothing line full-time thanks to success on Etsy.
I currently live and work in Portland, Oregon and do my clothing line full-time—or more than full-time. It’s like my child, and it’s not 9-5; it’s my life! I do it all myself at the moment, but I’m hoping to expand and have hired help soon. At the end of the day, it’s wonderful just to be able to do what I love and make a living at it.
As for Project Runway, this was my second time auditioning. I auditioned for season 4 as a last minute decision and I made it past the first cut, but ultimately I didn’t make it and I don’t think I was ready for it then. The second time was the charm, and I was without a doubt a much stronger designer. I had been making clothes constantly in the last year. I think I made well over 200 garments that I then sold to boutiques or in my Etsy shop. Some days I would make up to three dresses in one day! So, I definitely felt much more prepared and confident in my technical as well as design skills.
Once I found out I had made it I was beyond thrilled! And of course it was so much harder than I could ever be prepared for! I’m used to working alone in my studio apartment all day long. It’s just me, my sewing machine and a closet that is overflowing outward with fabric! This environment was the complete opposite with the cameras, the crazy personalities and all the drama! But it was the experience of a lifetime, without a doubt, and I made some great friends while I was there, too.

Check out Frances Bean’s glamour hard rock look. There’s nothing like being a 16 year-old fashion icon. Here she goes for a Joan Jett look with vintage-Metallica-tee, skinny gray jeans, and the newly trendy pointy-toe boots. She dresses it up with faux-Ray ban’s and matching red lips and nails!

Here is Cyndie Lauper on the cover of her album Time After Time. I’m sure at the time she thought a baby-blue velvet skirt, one mesh fingerless glove, and contour blush was a good idea.
Needless to say, the look doesn’t hold up.

Late last week news came out that tranny-mess Amanda Lepore was releasing a make-up line. I guess for other tranny-messes or for those who want to look like a tranny?!
But it may be awhile before the cosmetic line is released, SO here’s a list of tips of how you too can look like Amanda Lepore…
1. No eyebrows
If you have eyebrows-shave them! Then take a pencil and draw an eyebrow of your choice. Most trannies go with the thin arched eyebrow that makes you look like you’ve had an eyebrow lift.
2. Blowfish Lips
If budget permits get as many collagen injections as you legally are allowed to get. Yes, these injections will set you back a ways, but you can’t get the same look with out them. If budget doesn’t permit, take some red Play Doh and craft your own blowfish lips.
3.Fake Eyelashes
God may have given you two sets of eyelashes, but those were just a starter set. Go down to your local drugstore and pick up two or three sets of fake eyelashes. Get some glue and layer each set over each other. Be sure not to get the glue in your eye.
Nobody wants to lose an eye in the process of looking like Amanda Lepore.
If you are having trouble knowing weather you look ‘tranny’ enough just ask yourself this: ‘Do I look like a blow-up doll’? If the answer is yes, then you have succusfuly made yourself up like Amanda Lepore!

What is the deal with these jeans? These are the most unflattering pair of jeans I’ve ever seen. Pockets on the thighs is never a good idea.

Diane Vreeland is a personal fashion idol of mine. She was the former editor of Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar. She also said a lot of crazy shit. Here is one of her only sane quotes.
“The only real elegance is in the mind; if you’ve got that, the rest really comes from it.”
I guess Paris Hilton has never heard of Ms. Vreeland!

Sure everyone talks about how much of a fashion icon Madonna is now, but what about right when she got famous? Here’s a blast from the past of Madonna in the mid-80′s. Before the stylists, before the mink-fur fake eyelashes, before the kids.

With rumors swirling that Quentin Tarantino will be remaking the cult classic Faster Pussycat, Kill, Kill I thought I would dedicate a post to the awesome style of the original movie.
The rumored cast is said to be anyone and everyone from Britney Spears, Eva Mendes, and porn-star Tera Patrick. If this remake ever does make it to the screen it will either be the greatest thing ever or a huge steaming pile of crap.
What Britney’s costume might look like….
