So this past week I was making my Fall shopping wishlist and I came across these Alexander Wang denim shorts. I know Alexander Wang is the designer of the moment and can do no wrong, but almost $300 for denim shorts?! REALLY!
Okay the whole designer, distressed look is a personal-fashion-pet-peeve of mine. Why spend a crazy amount of money on something you can get at a thrift store for $3? This is why I can’t really understand Alexander Wang as a designer. It looks like luxe Urban Outfitters clothing. Kurt Cobain must be rolling around in his grave.
All I have to say is I’m so over it!

Lula magazine is one of the best mag’s out there right now. Yes, better than American Vogue and well worth the $15 price tag. It was started by stylist Leith Clark in 2006 and cultivates a ‘wood-nymph, lo-fi, soft focus aesthetic. They produce two issues a year. And for their 7th issue they are celebrating with two covers.

Audrey Marnay
Another current magazine well worth the $15 dollar price tag is Purple Magazine. Created by Oliver Zahm, the magazine features everybody who is cool in fashion. Frequent contributers include Terry Richardson, Richard Prince, and Mario Sorrenti. There’s one thing you can always expect from Purple Magazine and that is nudity. Almost every cover features somebody naked. And for this cover it’s photographer and one-time model Mario Sorrenti, with his man bits being covered by ex-girlfriend Kate Moss.

Janice Dickinson recently gave an interview with HX.com and unbottled a whole lot of crazy! Here is the best of her craziness. Starting with her lack of knowledge about the Amendments to her hatred for Tyra Banks (well I can understand that).
HX: How are you, Janice?
Janice Dickinson: Good! I’m sitting in the heart of homosexuality, the Santa Monica Equinox Gym. And you know what? Eat your fucking heart out. Were you aware of your former model Rodrigo De Carli’s gay porn past before you hired him? And how do you feel about the fact that he’s now working with Lucas Entertainment under the nom-de-porn Claudio Martin?
I don’t have a problem with gay porn. What’s wrong with gay porn? It allows people to encapsulate what their fantasies are. Is that so bad? I think Rodrigo had other issues that were far too severe, which is the reason he’s not with the agency anymore; I’m not going to go into depth about it, but he knows what they are. As far as him having a colorful past? Look, as long as you don’t sodomize children, this is the United States of America—the Fifth Amendment, Larry Flynt, yes! I see nothing wrong with gay porn.
(Note: The Fifth Amendment deals with Grand Jury crimes, Double Jeopardy, and Due Process. I think she means the First Amendment, which is the right to free speech. Larry Flynt fought the Supreme Court for the right to.)
The media is currently eating up the fact that there’s a transsexual model on the upcoming cycle of Top Model.
Oh, please. I did it on my show first with Claudia. But you know what? There’s not going to be a moment where Tyra’s not going to knock me off, so I’m not bothered by her.Have you ever received a little note or phone call from Tyra to congratulate you on the success of your show?
Are you fucking kidding me? Hell, no. Never. Nothing. That’s unbelievable.
Believe it, baby. Nor did I ever get a note or call thanking me for helping to put her show on the map. Whatever. She’s not my favorite person.

We here at Fashion Indie love Gossip Girl. So much so that come this Fall we will host screenings of the show. Micheal Kors loves the show so much that he just filmed a cameo. Could Kate Spade be a fan? Here’s her Fall campaign. A little Blair Waldorf?! No? You be the judge!
