Fashion F*ck-Ups: Kate Hudson

Fashion F*ck Ups: Kate Hudson

Kate Hudson’s hair and makeup were looking pretty perfect at the New York premiere of Bride Wars. But the dress is another story … clearly she and co-star Anne Hathaway were going for a bride-groom feel (Anne looked super-hot in a sleek, fitted black suit), but Kate’s gown is a little too D-in-geometry-class, a little too rejected-Marimekko-design… She was smart enough to leave her neck bare to accommodate the big print — and the fit is OK, but I’m pretty over the whole mermaid tail thing, too.

Ray Ban Debuts Wayfarer Skinnies

Ray Ban Debuts Wayfarer Skinnies

With the same shape, durability, and style as the classic Wayfarers, Ray-Ban‘s new Skinnies are just a little slimmer.

For some, that translates to uniqueness, versatility, and sleekness.  For me, that means another thing I can’t buy for fear of breaking it.  Sigh.

Three color combos for sale now at Shopbop.

Moment of Style: Victoria Beckham

Moment of Style: Victoria Beckham

Putting the “Posh” in, well “Posh” for over ten years, Victoria Beckham risked looking a little hippy in Dubai this weekend.

Her billowy Dolce and Gabbana dress with corset top practically orbited around her Saturday at an Italian soccer party.

Becks wore a white Polo shirt…

Spread Um: Kate Winslet for ELLE UK

More images from Kate Winslet’s February 2009 ELLE UK spread have surfaced.  The retro-inspired modern looks are a good change for her.  I feel stylists usually can’t let go of her Titanic image, and stick her in period piece-style editorials.  I see nothing flowy here, though; and no bodices, petticoats, or men in tights.

Here’s hoping for no photoshop lawsuits…!

Scans from The Fashion Spot.

Big Girls Don’t Cry

Edited by

Big Girls Dont Cry

A new survey suggests that women in the UK who wear a size 14 (US size 12) are the happiest — with career, love life, friendships, etc.

Special K’s poll of 3000 women found that for the most part curvier — but not huge — women are happier (but greater happiness isn’t directly proportional to a higher weight).

And for the record, Marilyn Monroe, above, is said to be a size 12 by today’s standards, but I don’t know how happy she was.

The results are as follows:

HAPPIEST DRESS SIZES
1. 14 (US 12)
2. 12 (US 10)
3. 8 (US 6)
4. 16 (US 14)
5. 10 (US 8 )

LEAST HAPPY DRESS SIZES
1. 24 (US 22)
2. 20 (US 18)
3. 22 (US 20)
4. 6 (US 4)
5. 18 (US 16)

From The Telegraph.
