Influenced by minimalist architecture and west coast nonchalance, designer James Perse continues to expand his line of subtle, casual basics, most notably, sumptuous t-shirts and tanks. In his most recent collection, Perse sticks to a high fashion, low-maintenance philosophy, creating luxe, high-quality thin-cotton v-necks, scoop necks, fitted tank tops, tunics and more that offer a relaxed, yet stylish aesthetic. Think of it as the bottom the fashion pyramid—simplistic staples with which you can either build your wardrobe upon or just as easily wear alone. The majority of pieces exist within a muted color spectrum ranging from, my favorite, heather grey, to navy to black, and are perfect for creating that haphazard, “trying without effort” look.
