Barbie Pays Better Than Balenciaga
CNN reports that Barbie and Bratz doll clothing designers make up to $62,000 per year.
Young designers should take note. Most folks starting out in fashion barely make enough to cover rent. So if your interested in being alive long enough to see your first Bryant Park fashion show, you might want to design for a smaller silhouette.
Honestly though, Barbie is about the same size as an Olsen, so it would actually be pretty good practice to work on her first.
Side thought, considering the amount of money spent on Barbie outfits and how few “mainstreamers” support her wardrobe, you’d think there would be more young designers designing clothes for the doll on the sideline?
