Designer Discovery: Joanne Cordero Reyes

Meet the next sensation! Joanne Cordero Reyes has hit the streets with innovative designs that refuse to hide in the shadow. Stepping into the limelight, as well as into her own label Vicente Villarin, Joanne has created breathe taking designs, which at first glance will simply make your jaws drop. The designs are intricate and extensive at the same time in a way that is signature of her own voice. Joanne is certainly not new to the sewing machine. Working for Reem Acra and J. Mendel, Joanne has had quite some experience in her area of expertise. Watching dilligently as designers fit gowns for red carpet events on some one of a kind fashionistas is clearly evident in Joanne’s pieces. The ensembles are a glimpse of perfection and true character. Step into one of Joanne’s pieces and be sure to have all eyes on you.

Designer Discovery: Walter Steiger

I came across this fabulous black and silver sequined platform shoe during one of my fashion magazine binges at the local News and Photo Shop. The designer is Walter Steiger, and I immediately went home and looked up more of his designs on Myprestigium.com. The flashy, vivid colors and unique shapes might be too much for every day, but they are remarkable statement-makers. Not to mention perfect for a delightful drag queen night out!

Stepping away from former Brazilian fashions, the newer trends amongst Brazilian designers are causing a major following.

Designer Marcia Ganem opens the forum with distinctively created fashions that never fail to gain approval. Throw a used car at Marcia and you better be ready for what she’ll do next. Using materials such as polyamide fibre to create all of her dresses, the designer takes on the streets using car tires and seatbelts as the basis of material creation. The gowns Marcia creates have an edge that few can imitate. The colorful ensemble is what gives the dresses their spark; don’t expect to see any simple colors here.

Strap on those pumps because design label Melissa has taken to consumers in an entirely new fashion. The designs created are a compilation of bold shoe designs, which have been mended at the hands behind the label as well as amongst collaborations with British designers to give the collections extra flair. All of the designs are eco-friendly and 100% recyclable.

Lace is nothing new to Martha Medeiros. The unstoppable dresses are hand threaded to perfection for any confident woman. Throw on a Martha Medeiros design and you’re sure to have all staring in awe of the uniquely mended fashions. The dresses create a stir on any street with the simplistic yet bold design work.
