The Blessed: Kate Lamphear

Kate Lamphear, fashion editor for Elle magazine, was looking pretty fabulous around Bryant Park during New York Fashion Week. I absolutely love the masculinity she throws in to counter her delicate, feminine aesthetic. The fitted blazers and the basic colors have got Ms. Lamphear looking like Karl Lagerfeld’s twin! And if you ask me, Kate Lamphear rocks the bleached, edgy cut better than Agyness Deyn! If only Nina Garcia had this much style…and better hair…

Dennis Lanni has done it all. With editorial, celebrity and advertising styling under his belt, his portfolio of magnificent hairdos has grown to illustrious proportions. Working with the likes of Terry Richardson, Zooey Deschanel and Bjork and styling ads for Chloe, Uniqlo, Apple and Sisley, Lanni has made a significant impact on the fashion world.

The Blessed: Nixon Watches

I usually hate wearing watches. I think most of them are unattractive, bulky and ill fitting. The only one I own is an $8, vintage, plastic Tetris watch- it looks awesome and gives me something to do during class. But I have recently been obsessed with every glorious timepiece made by Nixon. From funky and futuristic to old man fabulous, I don’t even know which one to choose! I am very partial to the old school, all gold stainless steel number named The Ivy. For the male gender, let me suggest The Metal Atom, in gold as well. Telling time has never been so attractive.

Street Heroes: Valeria Picerno

Fashion Indie’s very own (and my partner in PR crime!) Valeria Picerno landed herself on the ever so infamous blog The Sartorialist. I can’t say I’m suprised though, she always manages to outshine herself day after day. I hope you’re enjoying Milan Valeria, and we’ll see you when you get back!

The Blessed: Dahl+Dane

Daily Candy always sends me my daily dose of syrupy fashion information, and I thought this was extra sweet. Dahl + Dane= True Love Always is a string of projects started by Williamsburg-based couple Alison Dahl Kelly and Dane Risch. I hate the mushy gushy lover gifts, but these are actually super cute and original. The process starts with an organic tee, and organic dyes are used to print the initials of your beloved with silkscreens made from scratch. It’s an imaginative, thoughtful and environmentally friendly gift- what could be better?

When did this happen? When did Dakota Fanning grow up? Here she is at The Secret Life of Bees premiere looking stylish and age appropriate. A surprise considering it is Hollywood. At the tender age of 14 she’s already been in a Marc Jacobs ad campaign. She is well on her way to becoming a fashion icon before she’s even legal.

It’s supposed to rain for the next couple of days here in the Big Apple. Tell the rain to fuck off with this really cool umbrella. Oh and this is totally the umbrella I’m going to send my kid to school with when I’m older.

Yesterday Dita Von Teese officially opened the new Harvey Nichols store in Bristol, UK, looking amazing and glamorous in a baby blue Rodarte Fall 2008 dress and gold Christian Louboutin pumps. This woman can do no wrong, she looks gorgeous in anything that has the pleasure to touch her body. Okay, that sounded lesbian like, but seriously, I’m just jealous.

The Blessed: Taylor Momsen

Although Miss. Taylor Momsen has taken some heat from me in the past for not looking her best, she is back on my good side with the relaxed Fall look she was sporting recently. I love her boots they look amazing. It seems as though she was paying attention to Gossip Girl and Fashion Week, because she is decked out in the hot color right now (grey). I love her draping, hooded sweater as well. I’m totally over the eye makeup, but no one’s perfect. God, does everyone from Gossip Girl have to be really cool?

The Blessed: Gwyneth Paltrow

Gwyneth has recently been shocking me with how good she’s been looking. I mean don’t get me wrong I have always found her fashionable and beautiful, but she has been out doing herself lately. Gwyneth looks amazing in her cute red dress and black, open toed pumps. I wish she wouldn’t have gone with the black nail polish, doesn’t she know grey is all the rave. Oh well, there’s always next time! Keep it up!
