Ad-Dict: Stussy

Stussy always has super cool ad campaigns. But I absolutely love the fall ‘08 ads. The models become works of art in cool clothes against printed and graffitied backgrounds. The prints projected on their skin makes for truly urban camouflage. These ads alone make me want to buy everything in the fall collection!

Finland’s Next Top Model Gives Us a Real Catwalk Catfight

Who needs Tyra when you’ve got Finlandian beauties decking it out for runway supremacy on Finland’s Next Top Model?  Seriously, this show looks hot!!!  I wish this wasn’t just a promo and the girls on this show actually had to beat the shit out of each other to win. Kind of like a Fight Club for waify model types.  Tyra, give the American people what they really want. WWF style battle royals!!!

Ad-Dict: Dior Homme

If I were a man, Dior Homme would fill 75 percent of my closet. I love the fall ‘08 ad campaign: simple, classic and really makes me want to drop huge sums of cash money for the clothes.

Justin Timberwack Attempts to Be Bad Ass as William Rast. Yeah, I’m Jealous!!!

William Rast/Justin Timberlake has just released this behind the scenes look at the making of the next commercial for the denim line. Rast races around with a huge gash in his arm, which I’m guessing was caused by a jealous fan or bookie or Ashton Kutcher cause he knows how “rough” JT likes it. Either way, I fucking hate how famous this guy is…

I mean the dudes pretty cool, I guess. He dates the hottest women, has a hugely successful music career, makes movies that I actually see, and has a pretty cool fashion line. I guess if that stuff gets your rocks off, he’s a pretty cool dude. But for me, it’s just not enough. I need more Justin. I need you to call me sometimes, you know, and make an effort to be my friend. This relationship is so one sided. I can’t continue this bromance is you refuse to do your part or at least pitch me your sloppy seconds (Scarjo call me).

Sarah Marshall Wants You to Vote and … Shop at the Gap

What happened Sarah Marshall Kristen Bell?

You didn’t get invited to play with the big celebrities in that whole “Don’t Vote” PSA so you decided to reenact your favorite episode of Blues Clues and tout your voting rights for the Gap? I stopped watching after the cast of Heroes didn’t show up. Seriously, a voting ad with only one celebrity? Who the fuck do you think you are, Oprah?!?

I have opted to not vote for this public service announcement. I need a group of celebrities I can trust. Not some Maverick who thinks she can take on this whole youth indifference thing on her own.

Ad-Dict: Kenzo Jeans

I’m not sure where to start with this one. The vibes I’m getting are very Kenzo, but they are women’s Kenzo. It’s Garden of Eden meets Japanese hideaway with flowers engulfing the entire spread. The light is hitting the fog to create a very ethereal mood. The vine wrapped around the wide-eyed model is sensual, yet innocent. I very much like this ad, but I wonder how Kenzo’s desired target market will react. What do you think?

Ad-Dict: Levi’s 501 “Live Unbuttoned”

Levi’s teamed up with Vice Magazine to chose someone to do their new Levi’s 501 “Live Unbuttoned” campaign in Stockholm. The winner was Mia Nilsson with her rendition of kids trying to be cool in their 501’s. Pretty nifty!

Ad-Dict: Harajuku Lovers Fragrance

I love this ad for the new Harajuku Lovers fragrance. It’s super fun and lighthearted- it reminds me of being a little girl and playing outrageous dress-up with my sister. The repetition of pink in the model’s outfit, makeup and hair flowers alludes to the light, flirty smell of the fragrance. I love how she has doll heads from the bottle in her hair- it’s weird and kooky but definitely draws much wanted attention. And it smells awesome too! Definitely check it out next time you spot it at the perfume counter.
