If there’s one cause that’s near and dear to my heart, it’s The Funk. So understandably I was filled with immense sorrow when I heard that Dr. Funkenstein himself, George Clinton, needed $50,000 to save his studio. And then I was filled with even more immense sorrow when I realized that George Clinton doesn’t have $50,000.

Monday, outside a factory owned by Puma manufacturer, Kaoway Sports, protests turned violent when an unidentified man fired shots into a group of strikers, critically injuring at least one factory worker. Located in the Cambodian province of Svay Rieng, the Kaoway factory is part of the district’s Manhattan Special Economic Zone where some 3,000 workers have been on strike for higher wages and better working conditions for the past week.

There’s not many phrases we hate more than “Fat Tuesday,” but we will jump on the Mardi Gras train. Valentine’s Day may (thankfully) be over, but love, much like poisonous factory fumes, is still in the air. Perhaps struck by Cupid’s arrow or some other penetrating accouterments, we decided to get ‘em while they’re young and play matchmaker with some celebrity spawn. Mazel, kids.
