London Fashion Week: Mary Katrantzou Fall 2012

Edited by

Mary Katrantzou is currently flying high. Her wild, colorful prints have made their way to fast fashion in her collaboration with Topshop. She just debuted her Fall 2012 collection at London Fashion Week, and the British designer’s sensational prints are causing a seriously intriguing eye trip among critics. Inspired by fashion superstar Antony Price, famous for dressing Roxy Music, her dramatic silhouettes went from the peplum and hourglass to corsets and godet skirts, the latter extremely difficult to print on in a uniform manner. We always love Katrantzou’s eye twirling collections, and this is no exception. See the gallery after the jump.

For the woman who lounges in silk lingerie at home and isn’t afraid to wear it on the street, Ell & Cee is breaking the boundaries between inner- and outerwear.

Designer Daily: Subversive Jewelry by Justin Giunta

Edited by

Be kind to the guy selling beautiful jewelry on that street corner in Soho. He could be the next CFDA winner. Justin Giunta did just that many moons ago, then took the prize in 2009. An artist of all trades, his creative self is steeped in painting, fashion, interior and industrial design, and has succeeded tremendously in the realm of making jewelry independently under the guise Subversive Jewelry. His philosophy, “In authenticity there is luxury,” translates quite clearly to his clients, peers and Royal fans.

Marni x H&M! Full Collection Sneak Peek

Edited by

We got lusty over the glimpse of Marni x H&M earlier today in the Open Lab editorial, when not hours later, the entire collection shows up in my inbox. While it showing up in my real life mailbox in all its printed glory would have been far preferable, I’m sure that I, too, will have to battle the crowds when the Marni collaboration drops in 260 H&Ms worldwide on March 8th, 2012. See the collection right here. And stock up on brass knuckles for the line’s launch.

Marni x H&M Gets the Editorial Treatment

Edited by

On the road to El Dorado in the Spring issue of Open Lab magazine, stylist Oliver Fussing was one of the first to fuss over the Marni x H&M collection. Shot by Simon B. Mørch on Elite‘s androgynous model (not the 17th century Austrian painter)  Gustav Klimt, the Marni print shouts easy living on a wild ride. It’s like looking at the world through blue colored glasses (by Mykita x Moncler). See how they paired it with Pendelton, and pared it down with Weekday x Bruno Pieters. Hot collaborations all around.
