BeautySpark: Crimped Hair

Tyra’s been spotted rocking crimped hair. I knew it was only a matter of time before someone attempted to rehash this 80/90’s hair disaster.

To be completely honest though, I really do like the way this looks on Tyra. The crimp almost feels like what a white chick would do if she wanted to get some afrodite-esque hair. And since Tyra really doesn’t have any of her own hair, this look works well since it isn’t actually destroying her locks.

So I guess what I’m saying is that this look might actually work if you had a weave, wig or extensions. Other than that I would never suggest destroying your hair for the chance to catch onto this trend.

I guess I’m also complimenting Tyra, which might just be a first on Fashion Indie (I personally love her, but some of our other writers are less than excited about the Top Model).

Katie Holmes Hair Evolution

Late last year Katie Holmes debut a more mature, very stylish bob. However as 2008 progresses she keeps cutting more and more off. She has gone from stylish fashionista in the making-to stay at mom.
Here’s the evolution in photos

This Gun Can Blow Out Your Hair, But Not Your Brains!

I came across this amazing blow dryer this morning and I had to write about it. This is by far one of the coolest things I have ever seen. You use the gun’s hammer to adjust the temperature of the dryer, then pull the trigger to finish the job. Hopefully this amazing tool isn’t used to commit hair suicide though. No word on how to get one, but if any of you indies find out let me know ASAP!

Thanks so much to LikeCool.com for this gadget!

Trendspark: Wavy Hair

Summer may be winding down but that’s no reason to get rid of those romantic beach waves! Maintain and put a spin on the waviness throughout Fall. This look is flattering on all types. Whether remaining casual with friends or spending a night out, waves are the perfect way to achieve a relaxed whimsical vibe.

Wavy hair is attainable, even if you have not been born with romantic ringlets.  Simply use a curling iron of the size you desire; bigger iron for the curlier side and thinner for the straighter side. Then, break up the curls with your fingers, to create a definitive wavy look. Be sure to use hairspray! The luscious look is fantastically unique amongst the ubiquitous straight style. The trend is cute yet sultry. Which wavy look is for you?

Thanks to Elle for the fantastic images!

Paris Wants To Give You The Chance To Be Her

Paris Hilton just launched the Website for the $70-a-box hair-extensions line she’s doing with Sally Beauty. The tagline: “Everyone should get the chance to be me.”

Oh Paris, do we not make fun of you enough? No one (and I mean no one) wants to be you, with or without fake hair). This is just like the Jessica Simpson attempt to promote her hairdresser. Why would anyone want clip on bleached out plastic hair? Exactly!
