A couple weeks ago we told you all that Ali Hewson of Nude Cosmetics was suing Stella McCartney for use of the word nude in her latest fragrance. But today we hear that despite Hewson’s attempts to ban the sale of the perfume, the fragrance will still be released on time in the UK this Saturday. Good decision, I found the whole thing a bit ridiculous.

If you ever were concerned about how to get lips the color of reality star Whitney Port’s, then get ready to head to the nearest Sephora. Whitney, who is also dabbling into fashion with her own line, has recently teamed up with Cargo for her own shade of hot pink lipstick as part of their PlantLove series.

It’s all for a good cause, though, with two dollars from each purchase going to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Okay West Coast people, you finally got me. Here’s my one stint of jealousy, savor it because I doubt it’ll will come around to often. News has dropped of a West Coast spa week, which runs from September 14th to the 20th. Yes, a full week during which all the top spas are offering up their best treatments for just $50. Appointment booking for the spa treatments starts today, and we hear the slots are going pretty fast, so if you live in Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, Portland, Las Vegas, Arizona, or Chicago get your hands on a phone and dial.

So us East Coast people are a bit concerned. Where’s our spa week? We deserve it! We’re hearing some whispers of an East Coast version taking place sometime in October, but nothing definite yet. I’m keeping my fingers crossed!

First there was the vibrating mascara and the “S” shaped wand, then came along Latisse and a multitude of other lash remedies. With so many ideas out there, sometimes it’s tough to pick the perfect one just for you, but I’m sorry to say it may just get tougher as yet another lash remedy has hit store shelves.

 This certainly isn’t your standard eyelash curler ladies, in fact, it’s a curling iron, for your lashes! The curler heats up the same way you would heat up a curler to give your locks some curls. Personally this would make me a little nervous, heat on your lashes? For some reason it just doesn’t sound like a very safe result. But those who have tried it say it works like a charm, puts that instant curl in your lash that sticks around for hours. Who knows, maybe I’ll give in.

We always seem to come across quite the odd collection of beauty remedies, and I have to admit,  sometimes the weirder the better. So a new beauty secret seemed to make it’s way out of the dark today, and that secret is none other than your favorite beer. Twist off a cap or pop open a can because there’s three great beauty reasons to have this drink stored in your fridge.

For one, since beer is astringent it helps clean all the product out of your hair. Just pour some  on your hair a minute before you shampoo, and your locks will be good to go. And as if the shampoo thing wasn’t good enough, a few of our favorite beauty experts tried the secret remedy as a face mask. Mix one cup of beer, an avocado, a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar, and a tablespoon of honey and there you have it, your very own beer mask! The last one I’m a bit skeptical about, but I’ll let you all test it out for yourselves; it’s the beer bath. Supposedly the bubbly beer bath makes the list as the ultimate experience.

A couple weeks ago we told you that the tanning beds had been deemed a class 1 carcinogen, just as bad as smoking cigarettes. I had hoped that some of you would listen, but news has it no one is staying away from the death beds. Beach Bum Tanning has recently reported that business has continued as per usual since the news reports. Come on people! I knew I wasn’t going to put the places out of business, but there’s not even the slightest decrease in the number of individuals hitting the beds. I know we all like our color, but trust me I don’t think its worth the Melanoma.

For those of you that weren’t aware, Heidi Montag had quite the interview with Playboy. Not a big surprise there. But what is surprising is what they talked about behind the scenes. When asked about her plastic surgery, both nose and boobs, not only did Heidi admit to having them done, but she expressed her hopes to have her boobs done again in the future! Why? She wants to make them bigger for Spencer. I guess I shouldn’t really be surprised, and by all means Heidi, if you want them done again then go for it, but do it for yourself, Spencer’s just not worth it.

With tons and tons of lip venoms out there, I’m sure all of you know what I mean when I talk about the tingle. It’s fine at first, it’s really the only way you know the venom is working and giving you that fuller pout. But after about five minutes, the tingle is a bit too much tohandle. Pain may be beauty, but not that much pain! When DuWop released their first lip venom there was quite the craze, it was one of those products that actual did what it claimed, it really worked! Only problem was the tingle, a bit too long lasting. So they came out with 2nd Sin, a lip venom that kills the tingle with an instant cooling effect after a couple of minutes, and it works just as well as the first!

Recently there’s been a new change in sentiment about the whole cosmetic surgery thing. There’s always been those people that swore by it, and even more that did it and lied, but now it’s this growing cultural phenomenon that just keeps on going. How can we tell? There’s a beauty pageant  in Hungary only for people who have had a major cosmetic surgery done. Yes, I said only for those who have had cosmetic surgery. And by major I mean having had at least local anesthesia, if not general!

I get why people have cosmetic surgery done, and I guess the whole pageant is just another way of gaining something off of the surgeries that won’t really stop anyway. But there’s something that seems a bit odd and a little creepy about the whole thing!
