We’ve all been victims of it. That facial or spa package that just seems so worth the price on paper, even though you know in the back of your mind that it can’t possibly be that way in reality.

The latest culprit in this category are diamond dust and gemstones. Spa treatments and facials list the products in their packages for a number of reasons. One, they up the antee, and two, the gemstones supposedly leave you revitalized and energized. The question is, is it just a complete scam? Expert facialist Tammy Fender says quite the contrary. She says the products really do what they say on paper; however she does say to beware. The gems only work if they’re all natural, but sometimes these spas “manufacture” or even dilute them themselves.

So we’re not quite there, but we have reason to believe we will be soon. A test done by the International Journal of Obesity with the use of a certain kind of blueberry juice proved to prevent a form of diabetes in lab rats. Yes, we’re aware rats aren’t humans, but it shouldn’t be long before the juice claims to be cutting back our kind of pounds.

Before I tell you all this, let me just say I am not recommending this as a cure, it just happens to be a cool side effect. Recently reports have stated that people who underwent forehead lifts ended up significantly reducing the occurrence of migraines!

When a few people had the plastic surgery done for cosmetic reason, they reported the decrease in headache pain and immediately a doctor decided to figure out the cure. Now, they do the face lift at three specific pressure points to relieve the migraines. Not quite your over-the-counter remedy, and I’m not sure anyone should go this far, but I guess you never know.

Popular Indonesian salon and beauty school franchise Johnny Andrean wanted to get the word out about their new hair strengthening product and opted for a literal display: hanging what appears to be human hair ponytails on commuter trains in the capital, Jakarta.

In light of the new fragrance for women named Flower, Kenzo planted 200, 000 Poppy flowers in Toulouse, France! The art installation is set up in the center of Place du Capitole. It’s been a long ten years since Issey Miyake brought us the latest in fragrance, but finally Miyake’s giving us something to grin about, the wait is over. The newest perfume is named A Scent. Yes, we realize it’s not the most creative of names, but we hear the scent makes you want to grab dozens off those shelves, and the bottle is pretty awesome too. A Scent hits store shelves September 7th.

For those of you who love Sex and the City, we know you also love Mr. Big. And word has it you’ll be seeing a whole lot more of him. The actor has recently been named the spokesperson for Biotherm Homme, a men’s face-care brand. Shiseido’s Maquillage makeup line has teamed up with Alexander Wang to create a line of his own. Maquillage X is currently available in Asia, but the question is, when do we American ladies get to try it? I love how natural and lovely the colors look- like so many of his garments, you can wear this anywhere.

Kate Moss is set to hit the small screen! The model will be found alongside lifelong hairstylist and friend James Brown as he opens his own salon. I’m not quite sure, but I’m guessing the duo is going to be very entertaining.

We’re all guilty of it. Picking up one too many frappuccinos from Starbucks, ordering soda with your dinner instead of water, or of course, consuming tons of beer and liquor on a night out.

New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene has decided to intervene. It seems as though our apparent calorie gain in beverages is getting a bit out of control. The above ad campaign features a soda being poured into a glass while human fat comes spilling out. Personally, I find it a bit too graphic and just, well, gross. But I guess that’s the point, right?

People are always talking about how being a binge drinker can add on quite a few pounds; however, no one really looked into what this meant for the average drinker. Recent studies are revealing that binge drinkers are much more likely to head to the gym than those who don’t drink. Why? I’m thinking it’s because they want to shed off the pounds they gained the night before, but some people say it’s the same kind of thrill.
