Excess Baggage: Kooba Metallic, $315
I just spotted this Kooba Metallic Perforated Nelli Bag on Shopbop and it totally had me reminiscing about the Fall 2008 collections of some of my favorite indies. The hard, cold metallic look with it’s industrial rivets reminded me of pieces spotted in Rag & Bone, Ruffian and Alexander Wang. You can check out the looks this bag would look great with below and then head over to Shopbop to pick up the bag on sale for $317.50.

Rag & Bone Gives Us Metallics

Alexander Wang gives us a black metal sheen

The Only Moustache Better Than Chuck Norris’

These solid gold moustache chains are hotter than Kanye’s Jesus piece. For $200 a piece you can rock the most baller ’stache on the block. Your choices are either bushy or well constructed.
Don’t get too cocky though or Chuck Norris will roundhouse the crap out of you for not respecting the moustache he prides himself on. For more on these amazing pieces check out Magic Pony.
Cheap Shit: I Heart LA Tee, $25

I’m really big on cheap shit and for being “ironic” on the streets of NYC, which is why I’m all for this Archrival ”I Bleeding Heart LA” tee shirt. Get it, it’s ironic cause your a New Yorker with an I <3 LA t-shirt and it’s ironic cause no one fucking <3’s LA!!! Yeah, it seriously sucks there.
Grab the tee for $25 bucks at 80spurple.
Shop Indie: If Something Brings Back the Trucker Hat, Let It Be the New York Dolls, $88
I can’t stand how cool this looks to me.
God damn trucker hats, I know its really soon to be considered retro, but is it too soon for a comeback or at least a sequel of some sort?
Come on, the only ones who wore truckers when they were “cool” were Jersey girls with rock hards for Paris Hilton and Justin Timberlake stoolies, but isn’t it time we claim this look as our own by creating ones with classic bands like the New York Dolls. Case in point, the hat above. It’s only $88 on 80spurple, but worth so much more in street cred.
Supermarket is the New Etsy
Supermarket HQ is a more polished, Etsy-esque site for independent artists/designers/craftsters all over the world.
Like Etsy, the site hosts handmade books, toys, and clothing. But among the no-name sellers, I spotted some pieces from Yoko Devereaux and a lot of cool jewelry (above). I’m going to look up about a hundred designers now.
Buy! Sell!
Sneak Peek: Anya Hindmarch for Target
When Anya Hindmarch was first getting a lot of press, it wasn’t take long before I wanted to dropkick everything that wasn’t a plastic bag. But I’m kind of digging some pieces in her limited edition handbag collection for Target.
The line debuted at Target’s Bullseye Bodegas earlier this month. They sold out in the exclusive Manhattan locations, but are available Oct. 8 at anyahindmarch.com, and October 12 at Target.

Superhero Chic Meets the Stiletto: Kathryn Amberleigh Shoes, $29
Two of my favorites together at last. Cheap shoes + Superheroes. You can’t deny that these look like the types of towering slip ons that a real wonder woman would wear. And best of all these Kathryn Amberleigh’s are only going to set you back $29 bucks.
ShopIndie: Opening Ceremony Safari Dress, $584
I’m so fucking tired of being broke. And I’m sure some of you in Fashion Indie Land feel the same. To counteract this feeling I feel the need to talk about expensive shit I can’t have cause A) I’m broke and B) I’m a dude and technically I shouldn’t be looking at dresses. But hell, I can still appreciate how motherchucking cool this dress from Opening Ceremony is, right. It can be yours for the skip the rent this month price of $584 from Oak. Get it and feel like you make some bread for about two seconds.
Worship Worthy Shop Relaunch

To accompany the relaunch of the female-centered online daily newsletter Worship Worthy, editorial director St. Agnes and her crew have also given their online store a makeover. The Worship Worthy Shop, which once featured a few original T-Shirts and a totebag, features a new 8-piece collection of tees, leggings, and hoodies.
The sexy bondage-themed lookbook is filled with gothic lettering, and punk and graffiti influences.
BBlessing Fall/Winter 08 Collection
I had a chance to stop by the BBlessing store this past weekend and check out this line in person. The jeans are awesome. They aren’t terribly expensive, and when I first saw them amongst the stacks of Rag and Bone and Surface To Air jeans, I couldn’t tell them apart. The tops are great as well, fairly straight forward key pieces to a look. So be sure to get out to the boutique on Orchard St. and pick up the latest from BBlessing.
Thanks to Selectism for the pictures.
Designer Discovery: Ishi Glinsky
About two years ago Ishi Glinsky began designing jewelry to help fill the void in the world of men’s accessories. Now ONE FOUR FIVE ONE is a full-fledged jewelry line.
Initially, he fashioned the pieces out of found objects. Now he still maintains the collage look by combining regular jewelry elements (chains, stones, beads) with antique objects. The end result fuses stylistic influences of pirates, dadaism, and Native Americans.
In addition to hand-making his pieces, Glinsky recently had an installation of larger-than-life versions of his chains at the BPMW showroom in downtown L.A.’s Cooper Building.
Kim Gordon’s Hardy Jacket

Cool mom Kim Gordon has launched her line of what she calls “clothes for cool moms.” To meet this need, Gordon collaborated with friends Melinda Wansbrough and Jeffrey Monteiro, Mirror/Dash is limited to one item right now — and it’s limited to 50 pieces!
The Hardy Jacket, “a military-style wool jacket inspired by Françoise Hardy,” will be stocked at Opening Ceremony and Satine, and available through the designers’ website.
Bonus trivia: Mirror/Dash is also the name of a side project Gordon does with Sonic Youth bandmate Thurstoon Moore.
Rick Owns Goes Bondage With His Leather Wedge Booties
I came across these amazing Rick Owens wedge ankle boots over the weekend and I loved them so much, I decided to share the love with all of you. Incase you have been in a coma for about the last month, bondage is rediculously hot right now, and these wedges just further prove my point. You can purchase these sexy runway stompers at Brown’s Fashion, and then proceed to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
Thanks Is Mental for these amazing boots.
Swank ‘Chuck Out Your Chintz’ Jewelry
Like Dee & Ricky and many others before her, Becky Wignell refashions toys into jewelry. Something about using Lego flowers, instead of just the expected blocks and Legomen, caught my eye. She has a lot more cute, inexpensive pieces on her Etsy site and her main site: Swank.
