QUOTABLE: Roberto Cavalli Is Bigger Than A Rock Star…or just full of himself

Roberto Cavalli
“All over the world people don’t treat me like a fashion designer, they treat me like a rock star… I can’t walk down 5th Avenue without being treated like a rock star. In fact maybe it’s more than a rock – many times I’ve walked down 5th Avenue with rock stars and nobody pays attention to them. It’s very strange.” – Roberto Cavilli to Wallpaper magazine when asked about something that was completely unrelated.

Seriously, these things are a beast. And compared to normal stilletos, it seems like these monsters were raised outside of a nuclear powerplant. Can’t wait to see someone attempt them on the streets.

RUNWAY: Jil Sander Spring 2010
The fact that I somehow forgot to post Jil Sander’s Spring 2010 collection earlier is inexcusable, but look on the bright side, we’re that much closer to the gauze and linen goodness in store this spring! Overall, the line is relatively natural, encompassing earthy tones of beige and other basics. Sander played with cut outs and burn outs, mixing a fair amount of skin within a primarily tailored and androgynous collection. Loving the tattered, naturally worn out look of the gauze layers as well as the belting of oversized blazers!

FIRST LOOK: Alexander Wang Resort 2010 Footwear
They might not be quite as enthralling as past seasons, but Alexander Wang’s Resort 2010 footwear collection still has me drooling a little bit! Carrying his distinct, protruding heel into the future, Wang has a pair of desert-boot oxfords, suede, gladiator heels and leather, riveted gladiators in store for us. The oxfords are a mere version of his leather oxfords out this season, but those gladiators, yeah, those need to be in my life and on my feet STAT.
Thanks Refinery 29!
