TRENDSPARK: Parachutes

Christopher Raeburn’s new collection contains many military influences of parachutes for S/S2010. I’m predicting a huge parachute trend for Spring 2010.
TRENDSPARK: Crank Up The Volume

TRENDSPARK: Patterned/Printed Pants

Printed and patterned pants, or leggings, are making their own distinct statement and are a wardrobe must have for Spring 2010.
TRENDSPARK: Zipper Booties

Whether you splurge on Balmain or steal with the help of Ribbonne, this trend is inevitable.
TRENDSPARK: “Meggings”

Male leggings, or “meggings” are currently a big thing in Tokyo, according to InventorSpot, who originally posted this video. What do you guys think?
TRENDSPARK: Pouch Necklaces

Layered necklaces have been in style for years now, to take your look a step further just add a practical pouch necklace. These new pouch necklaces aren’t just any medieval inspired boring brown leather, they display our favorite trends including studs, suede and ornate gold brocade. As an extra plus, you now have a secret hiding spot. Thanks to Refinery 29 for some great options and styling tips.

TRENDSPARK: Multiple Watches

I love this trend. I’ve got tons of old watches that either don’t work, or I don’t wear because I believe in resorting to my cell phone to tell time. Photo from L’Officiel Netherlands. Get a similar product from La Mer at OAK

TRENDSPARK: Ombre Hair

Have no idea how you get this done and I feel that the procedure might cause you to lose all your hair, but this is by far the coolest look I’ve ever seen. Period.
TRENDSPARK: Black and White

Black and white has made a surprise appearance during the spring/summer 2010 shows this Fashion Week in Paris. Among shades of beige and color, the black & white combo has been seen head to toe— well, head to knee in the case of Vanessa Bruno, whose collection showcased a number of stretch lace knee-pads.
White isn’t a stranger to the warmer months, but most people tend to stray from dark colors like black when the sun is out. Will you be wearing this black and white pairing come next season?
TRENDSPARK: Manic Panic Hair
The hair at Proenza Schouler was definitely in my top 5 favorites for it’s 90’s throwback and originality on the runway. This Manic Panic-esque style has been popping up in other places to, most notably in the October issue of Vogue Italia. Start planning those hair-dying parties!

The Art Of Layering

Queen Michelle at Kingdom of Style showed us how she layers sheer…the result? A dreamy layered cake perfect for any occasion. I’m dying over those Christopher Kane For Topshop Leggings!

TRENDSPARK: Spock Ear Shoulders

Had no idea what to actually call these, but I feel as though we’ll be seeing a lot of this shoulder very soon. Above look from Todd Lynn S/S 10.
TRENDSPARK: Skinny Boyfriends
Ok ladies, I’m taking the initiative and telling you that it’s about time you throw those muscular, beefy studs of yours to the wayside. Forget about the safety you feel in their arms, it’s all about being able to wrap yours around him three times. Baby faces, structured jaws, quirky smirks and skinny jeans are a must. Oh, and if you can’t see a ribcage, don’t even bother.
Okay, so now that I’ve basically made my Craigslist post for my ideal boyfriend, the real reason I posted this photo via Jak & Jil Blog is because I love candid model shots…it just so happens that I’d date any and all of these guys…perhaps at the same time.
God, I’m a creep.
TRENDSPARK: Eye Tricks

You have to look closely at these items to assure yourself that they are as they appear. The first time that I saw the Comme Des Garcons shoes I had to do a double take….they are quite interesting. I do However, remember that this same trend was popular among some designers a few years ago.
TRENDSPARK: Greasy Hair?

I love the grunge look and all, but this grease-ball trend, as seen in Jonathan Saunders’ Spring 2010 runway show, is a little overkill. I have long, thin hair and it usually gets greasy after about 4 hours of being out and about. I’m not sure about you, but when the grease appears, I get a little self conscious and have to pull my mess of hair into a ponytail. I understand the effect Saunders is going for, the whole “I’m a cute, innocent little gem but I’ve got a few bad habits” look, but I don’t see the appeal of looking like you cooked bacon on your head. If anything, this Trendspark should end up on your list of “Don’ts” and remind you to wash your hair…stat.
