“We’re making adjustments we’ve never made before,” said Billy Lawson, owner of Shoe Inn, which operates locations in East Hampton and Westhampton. “Our Hamptons stores used to be a way to extend our margins … [but] this year, we opened on Memorial Day with a sale.
