Crimes of Fashion Past: Rave gear
I love neon colors probably more than most people. I should have been born a few years earlier to take full advantage of the blinding mess of 80s fashion. But neons can easily get out of control, especially when they take harsh drugs. Raver gear was a phase I saw a few of my friends go through. At a whopping 10 years of age, they, of course, were to young to be taking Ecstasy at all-night techno raves in someone’s unhygienic basement. But I reclined back and chuckled to myself while thinking how much they would eventually regret this foolish juncture. I can proudly say they have all grown out of wearing glow-in-the-dark jewelry and homemade pants with textile scraps from Jo-Ann fabrics. Glad to be burying this trend in the rancid fashion graveyard.
