Inspired from her native island of Hawaii and the “rugged industrial landscape” of New York, Bliss Lau launched her bag collection after her senior thesis at Parsons School of Design in 2003. She combines the best of both worlds to make handbags and focuses only on accessories such as belts and jewelry. Starting her own company at the age of 22, Bliss Lau designs for beauty, comfort, and function.

Her conceptual jewelry collection is meant to flatter a womans figure. Unlike “typical” jewelry, her pieces (such as Bolero, above) could be changed to have several looks.

Bliss describes her hand bag collection as “to be used as a container. Inside there are side zippers, cell phone/blackberry pockets, and other storage spaces. The fit of the bag is made for comfort and design.”

Bliss’ objective for designing belts is to create the illusion of the perfect female body (with its focus on the waist), and uses inspirations from her native island of Hawaii for the design.
