Basing her collection completely off of remains of vintage jewelry, Jesseca McCloskey is here to let us all know that nothing old or left behind should be considered garbage. Keeping a keen eye out for aging beads, lost lockets, and historical charms, Jesseca is always looking to rework, rearrange, and combine components of jewelry with a past. It is here that the drawing board begins; rather than starting at the sketchbook, with Jesseca it started with the ability to find treasure in another person’s trash. Growing up near the ocean, Jesseca says it’s no surprise that she’s ”intrigued by shipwrecks and the prospect of sunken treasure; particularly long-lost jewelry laying amongst the ruins on the ocean floor.” It is from this fascination that Paper Treasure was launched. The designer’s company features necklaces and bracelets with a historical past. Each piece is reinvented with widespread appearance of lockets and charms. The pieces each feature a more elegant side along with a splash of fun. Rather than just sticking to gold and silver, Jesseca lightens the pieces with colored components throughout the works as well. Pick up a Paper Treasure design and there’s no doubt it’s a great addition to any outfit.

Story by Marissa Moshell, Student

When I started this internship I was a quiet, innocent, polite girl. Now I find myself bashing poorly dressed celebrities and trannys thanks to the influence of Daniel Saynt.I am a huge Metro Station fan. My true inspiration for writing is my desire to gain equality for all lactose intolerant folks in the work place. My goal is to prove to the fashion world that we too are people and that we can change the world one Soy Milk mustache at a time!
