With his sculptural designs and menswear fabrics, Richard Nicoll has been creating womens wear that demands attention. He started in 2002 when his final year collection at Central Saint Martins MA, was bought by Dolce and Gabbana. He then freelanced for Louis Vuitton, showed three times at Fashion East, and has sold to such celebrities as Sophia Coppola, Tracey Emin and Bjork. His Spring/Summer 2008 Collection and Pre-Collection featured looks suitable for the futuristic business woman who likes showing off her briefs. The see through fabrics, layered and paired with metallics in skirts, straight leg trousers and trench dresses were shown in whites, silvers and peaches with the odd tie-dye suit. My favorite piece was a cut out band aid dress in taupe. Two details he could have done without however: the evil looking witch hats and ugly strappy shoes.

Biographies should be written after one is dead! So for now, I am alive in New York, designing for a Norwegian brand Flinga, keeping it short and sweet being an intern for Fashion Indie, which rocks!
