Designer: Whyszeck

Whyszeck is certainly not new to making a mark. The band turned fashion label has been rising under the umbrella of Christian Cerna as brand manager. The line encompasses a wide range of clothing, including coats, jeans, shorts, shirts, and graphic T-shirts. Whyszeck is most definitely not created without inspiration. The roots of the label are held close to their sincere beginnings, with each piece influenced by a musical background and the subculture that their music has connections to. Not only are the pieces influenced by music, there is a wide range of inspiration from an architectural stance as well. The new Spring/Summer 09 collection was inspired by the father of Art brut, Jean Dubuffet. The company says of their inspiration, “What Dubuffet treasured in this material was the raw expression, unspoiled of traditional conventions.” The roots aren’t far from the result; it’s clear that the line is representative of something of this nature. Even the T-shirts fit with the tackled expression, which is clearly woven through the threads of each piece.
