I have not heard of any merging between DFW and FID. they are totally different events. Detroit Fashion Week is an industry event and FID is more social than anything.

Detroit now has two fashion events. Detroit Fashion Week for the underground designers, and Fashion in Detroit for the upper crust couture. F.I.D was started by project runway's, Joe Faris and received national attention. Next year they plan to merge the two events into one huge one. It is something worth covering.
