I think this is a very strong statement from a person that seems to be clueless about why dirty thirty 8UJ wash released by Diesel in october 2008.

First apart from diesel sourcing a high percentage of their denim range with unique treatments and features from Italy giving the consumer an option of around 250 different choices of denim. The reason certain jeans like “dirty thirty” which are made in such countries like romania, is because of the way the jeans are made. I am not doubting the fact that the element of cost cutting is an option. but to slate a fashion retailer for sourcing materials from west europe is out of the question. Diesel has many laboratories spread through europe including italy who specailize in different washes and treatments. 8VS, 8UP, 8KL, 8LK, 61X, the list goes on.

Not only did the dirty thirty denim jean launch give everybody a chance to get their hands on a limited pair of denims which will never be sold within stores ever again. They made liitle profit.
Apart from pulling the wool over the consumers eyes with cheap jeans as you describe, they were a symbol of celebration of Diesel being thirty years old. Founded in 1978. The 30th birthday party of Diesel was one of the biggest around the world parties ever to be held, spread over 30 venues including milan, paris, new york and london where celebs as pharell william, super grass and mark ronson played live. to name a few. And even with the cheek of all this, they decided to charge a shocking price of £5 a ticket. I know what your thinking, how dare they charge me to see 30 live bands per venue for that price. goody bags?? get out!

As you can tell i totally disagree with your column and after reading it a couple of times, just seems to me that, this column isnt letting the world know about diesel’s “very poor quality” denim. Just you reassuring yourself and others who missed out on getting a pair that its okay, you dont need them.

cheap mondays aren’t much more than that and they are high quality, skinny as hell and a stretch a little.
