In response to the “too thin” modeling crisis crippling the fashion industry, Mr. Perret made the following statement on COACD (Confessions of a Casting Director) about a brave 17 year old model, Ali Michael, after she appeared on the Today Show with Ann Curry:
“Its a certain girl that wants to be a model, its a certain family that supports their dream. Modeling and fashion is a business of image with unfair expectations, if it was easy then why bother. The fashion reality is that a new batch of girls are in town, younger and hungrier.
My question: Would Ali Michael come out with her eating disorder if she had an amazing show season?”
Can you believe this lunatic? Now he and his faithful blog followers are calling for an industry boycott of Ali Michael, a young woman whom should be applauded for her courageousness in the face of this sort of insanity. Last time I checked this sort of craziness wasn’t accepted.
What woman in her right mind would ever read or agree to the craziness on Confessions of a Casting Director?
I am asking everyone in the fashion industry to no longer use the services of Mr. Douglas Perret and/or Development NYC as Mr. Perret symbolizes and perpetuates what has caused this sickness to permeate the fashion industry.
Don’t visit Confessions of a Casting Director and prevent another girl from sucumbing to the death grip that is anorexia. Don’t forget Ana Carolina Reston and tell this fat assed douche bag in his place!!!
