Being Anna Wintour's age, and with that being said, having been around a while, I've seen just about everything there is in fashion, from the beautiful and elegant to the ridiculous, and pushing even more to the sublime. To wear something that looks as though one forgot to take Immodium, when she needed it desperately, is, well, worse than sublime. It's pure hell!

SUPREME:

You are perfectly entitled to your own opinion on drop-crotch pants but by saying that I only wear what is in Vogue is completely irrational. First of all, I don’t read Vogue (the conservative element really restricts the boundaries that fashion can push) but that is besides the point. At one time or another, every trend has appeared in Vogue and I am positive that you, yourself, have even worn something that’s been in Vogue. To me, Vogue, and any other fashion magazine for that matter, is just a suggestion and I, as the fashion consumer, pick and choose what I like to wear. Yes, I like drop-crotch pants, jumpsuits and gladiator heels but no, I absolutely hate those Herve Leger dresses Vogue so often slaps in the magazines. To say that I will wear anything in Vogue is completely false.
If someone were to wear every trend that appeared in Vogue simply because it’s what’s “in”, regardless if they liked the style, they wouldn’t be considered a fashionable person. They would be a mannequin.
I’m not sure how you choose your wardrobe, but I find it insulting that just because you don’t like a trend, you peg everyone who wears it as automatically under the sovereignty of Vogue.

And no, the above is not an “excuse” for my style. It’s a clarification.

I disagree wiht you supreme, magazines don’t tell you what to wear they tell you what’s out there. I think that the drop crotch is something unique and completely different from what we have been seeing in fashion for the past few years. The looks have gone from very tight and high crotched to a more baggy yet elegant look and this is just another way of bringing that style alive. As I guy I love the look. I have a pair of drop crotch pants myself, and I think that like anything, when done right they can look amazing. With another insanely hot summer most likely on it’s way, I think baggy and breathable is going to be a must in the fashion world, this is just another way of getting it done. 100% support the look

You say “don’t make excuses for your own style…” If only it WERE your own style! But it’s not! You’re wearing something hideous, because someone told you that it was “fashionable” and you’re too much of a sheep to think for yourself! If vogue was telling you that these diaper pants were hideous, you wouldn’t be caught dead in them! I wish these fashion-slave people could develop the ability to form their OWN opinions about style, instead of believing everything the magazine tells you. I am a native new yorker, not a tourist, but I am absolutely one of those people who would be laughing at you on the street in those things. If Vogue told you tomorrow to dress like a harlequin clown, you would probably do it.

for me, it just depends on the pants themselves. the pants pictured i do not like. but i have seen some i would buy and try to pull off. haha.

Couldn’t hate them more, I think they are hideous. I don’t see how looking like your legs end at your knees is a flattering look for anyone.
That being said, more power to you if you have found a way to make them look the least bit good.
