Fashion Indie + Fashion Rocks = Fashion Heaven

The Fashion Indie team had a whirlwind night filled with fashion and music…and we’re still recovering! An invitation to the third annual Fashion Rocks concert event at Radio City Music Hall was extended to us and we jumped at the opportunity.

What is Fashion Rocks, you ask? Besides being a fashion fused music concert, it’s also an event of real substance. All profits of this year’s Fashion Rocks are going to the charity of it’s curator, Elton John, choice. This year, Elton has chosen his own charity, the Elton John AIDS Foundation. Last year, all profits were dedicated to Hurricane Katrina Relief efforts. We love what they’re doing because we love fashion with a conscience!

Back to last night’s festivites…Radio City Music Hall was filled with fashionistas young and old looking to celebrate music and fashion. Music’s finest were out in full force. There were performances by Elton, the Black Eyed Peas, Christina Aguilera, Rhianna, Nelly Furtado, Jamie Foxx…the list goes on and on!

Now, on to the fashion. We were honored to be in the company of such incredible designers last night. The likes of Marc Jacobs, Donna Karen, Francisco Costa, Tommy Hilfiger, Kimora Lee and Russell Simmons and other notable fledgling designers were in attendance. We were treated to a fashion show covering timeless music inspired fashion trends: glam. grunge, punk, rockabilly, and goth. [grunge was definitely our favorite look and are full supporters of it's return to fashion...thanks Marc!!]

We topped the night off with the Conde Nast private after-party in Rockefellar Center. The Moroccan kasbah themed party was amazing. There was food and drink everywhere and a live band to enjoy. We definitely burned up the dance floor…with the help of one of the Fashion Rocks models!

It was a huge night for fashion and a HUGE night for Fasihon Indie! But don’t fret….you can enjoy some of what we did last night too! Fashion Rocks 2006 will be airing on CBS tonight at 9pm Eastern. So grab a few friends, get comfy in front of the tele, and have a blast!
