Knit Wits and a Kick in the Crochet

         January 13th, 2007

Remember when it was so uncool to knit and whenever you thought about crochet was when you were at your granny’s and noticed the yellowed doilies that seemed to cover every inch of her apartment?

I do, which is probably why I personally haven’t caught on to the whole knitting craze…apparently Vogue Magazine [aka Vague Dragazine] has. They’ve recently introduced Vogue Knit. Hell, if they’re into it, we better start taking classes.

The Stroll at the Habana Outpost Recycled Reject Shop has weekly Crochet and Knitting Classes for Beginners. It’s free to join but a donation is suggested. Come prepared with your needles and spools and get a lesson. And once you’re done with your first scarf or cap, show your granny. She’d be happy to know how hip she really is.

Crochet for Beginners
Mondays at 7PM

Knitting for Beginners
Tuesdays at 7PM

While you’re there, check out H.O.R.R.S. collection of eco-friendly, refurbished and reconstructed pieces. You’ll be surprised what can be done with an old pair of khakis and some lace.
