Malan Breton’s collection was a jazz inspired medley of classic black dresses mixed with extravagant feather bomber jackets and ruffled green mini-dresses. The line was a real treat and included my favorite piece from Fashion Week, a sleek, purple gown with a velvet L-shaped border.

At the close of the show, Malan stepped on stage and gave a two-peck kiss to each of his models…a nice touch. Backstage, Malan teared up, as the stress and joys that come from preparing a show were finally behind him. It was the perfect close to the week for Fashion Indie…a recent Project Runway hopeful, taking the stage during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, to showcase an impeccable collection of women’s wear. Definitely, the type of success we enjoy seeing.
