CDFA/Vogue Spotlight: Fetherston Design Group

Designer Erin Fetherston of the Fetherston Design Group started her fashion career by designing handmade frocks in 2004. A year later, she discovered that real, everyday clothes were a better choice for making it big in fashion. Her collection of ready-to-wear dresses are fun, flirty, and delicate creations that pay tribute to the global woman. This designer has had some help from her friends, including Ellen von Unwerth who helped the designer get some mainstream recognition when she shot Kirsten Dunst in a short film featuring the whimsical collection.

Erin’s story is the quintessential American girl in Paris fairy tale. After graduating from UC Berkeley, Fetherston flew to France where she took classes at Parson’s over the web. The city of Paris is still a spark of inspiration for her light and girly collection. Now with a CFDA/Vogue Fund nomination, the designer is poised to take her collection to a new level.
