Project Polartec

         August 8th, 2007

Think you can create a competition ready fashion piece from materials you’ve never seen before? Think you have what it takes to go head to head with designers from all over New York?

This Fall, Fashion Indie and Polartec are teaming up to give ten designers the opportunity to prove they’ve got skills. Designers selected to compete will be sent a mystery fabric package filled with yards and yards of Polartec’s finest high-tech textiles and fabrics. The designers have to create a runway ready piece from the fabrics they receive. Ten designers will then duke it out on the runway for $2000 in prize money and the front cover of an upcoming issue of Fashion Indie Magazine. The designer will also be featured on FashionIndie.com and will win a years membership to the Fashion Indie designer network.

It’s easy to compete. Just submit your illustrated ideas for a fashion line incorporating Polartec fabrics. You can submit drawings or photos of existing work. Winners will be contacted on August 31st and will be given one month to create a garment from Polartec fabrics.

Think you got what it takes to win the Polartec Design Challenge? Then submit your work to polartec@fashionindie.com.
