Gossip Girls Support Local Indies

While I don’t usually endorse shows that are on the CW (sorry Tyra) I must admit I’m hoping Gossip Girls sticks around for a long, long time. The show follows the drama of a group of high school aged socialites-in-training who spend their time drinking, screwing, and best of all shopping for indie designers like Alexander Wang and Jovovich-Hawk as well as CFDA / Vogue Fund hopefuls Phillip Lim and Vera Cava. WWD recently profiled the girls, who all seem like SJP’s in training, as they talked about the show and fashion. The spread featured some of our favorite designers and gave us a look into stylist Eric Daman’s (for Patricia Fields apprentice) model for dressing the female trio of fashionistas. He compares the characters the girls play as muses who “discover [[New York Designers]] before the buyers discover them.” Sounds like we can expect some independent NY style direction when Gossip Girls hits the CW this fall,
