Who Needs the Circus? 360 Style Proves NY Fashion Will Survive With or Without the Tents

Kanye West, Carmen Electra, Pete Wentz. Front row at Mercedes-Benz Fashion week right? Wrong!!! The hottest celebrities skipped the hoopla of the Bryant Park tents to attend the shows from newcomer Style 360, an off-site fashion destination held at the very hip Metropolitan Pavilion. Featuring shows from indie favorites like Ghita (headed by Kanye’s fiance Alexis Phifer) and Malan Breton, as well as spectacles from the underwear geniuses at 2(x)ist and a special runway show from my favorite retail destination Caravan (seriously, I shouldn’t be allowed in this store. I am throughly addicted and spend way to much money there. Well actually I don’t cause they have really great sales. Go today. 2 Great Jones) the Style 360 shows trumped the tents to win the hearts of fashionistas looking for a break from the circus.

Elle, Mercury, Sunsilk, Fiji Water, Nikon and other sponsors proved that there is more money to make off site than on, which is good news for independent designers stifled by the exhuberent fees demanded by the Fern Malis led IMG. Stay here for full reviews on all the off site indie shows you need to know about. Got to go now, Malan’s shows about to start and Diana Eng is probably looking for me.
