New York Fashion Week Spring 2008: Irina Shabayeva

         September 16th, 2007

Angel Lust Small-time designer with high-end taste, Irina Shabayeva had a little fashion gala at small French restaurant, Jour Et Nuit, on Tuesday, Sept 11th. I’m a huge fan of the whole installation theme that young designers are fancying these days. Beautiful women adorned in high priced dresses lounging around inspired by the spirit of fashion. Tres chic.

Her spring line was filled with flowy cocktail dresses in silk chiffon that could also be worn on any glamorous resort area. Taking inspiration from the 1920’s flapper girl and mixing it with the Art Deco movement, the collection included a mix of jewel toned cocktail dresses accented with lace and fur. Regal plaids, a common thread in her collections, was mixed with soft silk and knee high boots. Definitively a designer to watch. Be sure to buy at least one piece for spring 2008 for a sexy chic appearance.
