New York Fashion Week Spring 2008: Malan Breton

         September 16th, 2007

Drawing inspiration from photographs of “ancestors on holiday in French colonial Indochina”, Malan Breton’s spring 2008 collection combined South East Asian references with luxurious fabrics. Favorites in this well edited group, included the “conch silk floating double layer short dress” and the “onyx silk stretch crepe de chine tank top with silk satin-faced gazar full length” (both pictured above). Malan Breton extended his line into wedding gowns with a simple cream silk taffeta wedding dress.  The result was an elegance which should only be attempted by the most experienced fashionista.

Other collection highlights included a well rounded use of tans and eco-friendly fabrics. Te Casan shoes were perfectly paired with floral prints and full length dresses and skirts.
