NY Fashion Week Spring 2008: Jayson Brundson

Yes, yes I know. New York fashion week was ages ago, but as much as I would like to think I am capable of writing reviews, while battling the flu, while maintaining a full time job, while running the web’s number one source for independent fashion news (thanks indies!), while learning the banjo (watched Deliverance on TBS. got inspired), I’m not so here is one more New York fashion review for you.

Down under designer, Jayson Brundson offered a refreshing collection which combined elements of futurism, contrasting color blocks and bold bamboo prints in the finest silks and Australian Merino Wool. Sultry silhouettes showed a true understanding of the female form and the proper way to accent it, which positions this designer above many designers who chose to “manify” women with tailored looks which we’re more ‘menswear now in size two”, than flattering Springwear. (sorry boy-girls I’m not a fan of the “Dude looks like a lady” trend that’s showing up in the Spring.) Accented by accessories from Aussie jewelry maker, Dinosaur Designs, Jayson Brundson’s pieces transcended the trend forecast to offer a fresh look for spring which won’t be easy to duplicate.
