London Fashion Week Spring 2008: Louise Goldin

Colorful, deliciously poppy and completely in a league of its own, Louise Goldin’s spring/summer 2008 collection defied trend forecasters to bring a hodgepodge of bright jewel toned dresses and layered pieces down the runway. I am literally infatuated with this designers work, who I am hopping will be available in New York in the very near future (yes black is our color, but wouldn’t this be so much more fun). Feeling a little like VPL on a technicolor trip through Oz, this very talented designer changed my feelings towards the mixture of colors and unusual forms, two elements which usually result in unsettling feelings in my fashionable belly. With its geometric cuts, hello shoulders style, and sensual color blocking, this fresh Spring collection will undoubtedly win some major fans amongst the rebellious starlets and scenesters looking to breakaway from the contrived trends of the past few years.
