Alexander McQueen Mens Fall 2008
What Market Said: Alexander McQueen is such a forward thinker that sometimes the viability of his collection is not immediately apparent. His stuff often seems a little too “out there” to be saleable or understandable to the average customer. McQueen recently went to India and was so inspired, he designed a whole collection around what he saw there. His fall/winter collection for 2008 is all about prints from the sub continent- a clash of pattern and color. What Saynt Says: Is it weird that I am strangely drawn to this collection? While most of it seems like an unwearable jumble of paisleys and prints, pieces from this season of McQueen are very, um, desirable. The Indian inspirations are very apparent, which is refreshing and a directly different approach than what we saw last year. The colors work extremely well and the hues and mixes are perfect for the fall. Love what Queeny’s doing. We know the collection is a little bizarre, but you know in 5 years we will all be wearing some variation of this.
