Printed Originality from BeaYukMui

17 Jan 2008

beayukmuisweaterdress.jpgQuickly fell in love with this little “wrap dress” from designer BeaYukMui. It’s on sale for $237.50 (it’s so weird when the pricing isn’t simple, cause $240 is just so hard to accept) and it’s 100% cashmere (from Italy).

The Story Gets Better: Corey Delany Sunglasses

16 Jan 2008

Corey Delaney Worthington
Haven’t seen the video? Watch it here
If you don’t know The Corey Story here’s a recap. Some 16 year old Aussie troublemaker/genius decided to host a crazy house party while his parents were away on vacay. 500 people showed up, nudity and drunkenness ensued (do these two ever go it alone), neighbors complained, and the cops were called in to break shit up. Long story short the kid was fined $20,000 for his little adventures. On the local news, Corey presented himself as some slacker, f-the establishment, anti-hero which any kid would jump at the chance to party with. The videos shooting up the Youtube charts and Corey Delany will most likely be the name you’re gonna want to remember.

Now, his infamous glasses (the ones he refuses to take off) are for sale at CoreyDelaney.com. I would buy them, dude needs the money.

Hey Corey.

If you’re reading this. Let’s do an interview.

You totally rock.

Does Anybody Polka?

12 Jan 2008

AKA New York Short Sleeve Henley Dress

So I don’t know how I feel about polka dots. Ya see they have this weird stigma to them. They aren’t for men which means the male species hasn’t had the opportunity to embrace it. But women seem to get it, but does that mean it’s a good look?

This look from AKA New York seems to make polka dots look good. The large size and color make the dress seem fresh and perfect for spring. Available exclusively at shopbop.com. It might be a great look for the indie girl looking to the spring for some fresh prints and a chance to show a little leg. Get it now.

Hey Indies. Here’s a new fairly original little shoe designer out of Italy that is making some major waves in the US for it’s collection of affordable ($200 is affordable right?) collection of metalic shoesies. Apapezza’s collection of shoes have a look that includes futuristic silver, leather bullet wedge booties. Ultra shiny metallic zip shoe with a lean tapered toe and silver shade to clear heels. You can find the shoes at OAK which are on sale for 40% off. Happy shoepping. (shoe shopping, new word so write it down and spread it like butter.)

Is There Such a Thing as Eco-Chic?

07 Jan 2008

Foley + Corinna Handbags Country Tote
Skimming through Shopbop.com, I came across this Foley + Corinna Country tote. It’s crafted out of burlap and coffee bean sacks, which usually means the bag should be cheap since each of those fabrics are dirt cheap or free, but surprise surprise the bag costs $444 bucks. Am I missing something here or is it now okay to over charge because something is deemed “eco-chic”? Granted the bag is an exclusive and only available at Shopbop, but if the fabric’s not worth the price why over charge?

Hopefully Rogan’s upcoming collabo with Target will show that you don’t have to be over priced to be eco-friendly.

Designer Discovery: Everyone’s a Kritik

07 Jan 2008

Kritik
Looking for an sexy alternative to the over-hyped Juicy velor sweat suit? Check out Kritik, a new line that has found a comfy little niche in the contemporary sportswear market with it’s collection of short shorts and hoodies. I’m absolutely loving this line for three reason, one, it’s a total through back to the seventies, two, it showcases your stems pretty nicely, and three, it looks hot with a pair of tennis shoes or stilleto heels.

The only real negative about the line is that it’s also worn by Haley and Hilary Duff, Jessica and Ashlee Simpson, and Nicky and Paris Hilton, which means there’s a slight chance you might end up making some really shitty movies after use.

The line ranges from $80 for shorts to $150 for tops. Click on the photos below for more details.
